Perhaps one of the most 'orange' rhododendron hybrids, this compact plant has a wide-ranging appeal. The golden-orange flowers open from deeper buds of orange-red and are carried in a truss of up to 19 flowers. New foliage is bronze-tinged becoming dark, glossy green. To 1.2m. A New Zealand hybrid, 'Orchard Road' has pink to mauve flowers with yellow at the throat. The flowers are funnel shaped, carried 9 to the truss and long lasting on the bush. Open and vigorous, it grows to 2.0m. (October-November) |
