Our recent piece on designing with containers was quite clearly a hit. One reader has sent us in these before and after photos to show her transformation of a front garden using ideas from that article.
The front garden in this hillside property has a wonderful view, but is exposed to the wind and the sloping lawn drew your eye to the boundaries and not the garden. Our reader felt that it lacked atmosphere, pizzazz, despite lots of planting and work.
Something more was needed; and that is when bestgardening.com inspiration hit.
Another long look at the space and an out-sized, eye-catching pot was acquired. Placed on a small platform built and with an arch for added emphasis, the pot became the centrepiece of the area. Quite a dramatic statement!
Well done, we think it looks absolutely fabulous!
