Coleton Fishacre
From the more formal layout of the garden near the house to the woodland garden that runs down a steep valley towards the sea, Coleton Fishacre is a delight. East Lambrook Manor
The garden of the late Marjorie Fish ('We Made a Garden', 'A Flower for Every Day' and many more), whose writing inspired many and whose work rescued many cottage plants and cultivars from oblivion. The style of intensive gardening with many, many smaller plants means that this charming garden can sometimes disappoint ardent admirers of Mrs Fish, as it is near impossible to maintain it to the same, very high standard. Many of the features have grown and now dominate where once they added emphasis. Still a lovely garden and worth the pilgrimage.
