SHOW PREVIEW
The 15th annual Taranaki Rhododendron Festival will be held from 25 October to 3 November. This is a key event in the gardening calendar for rhododedron enthusiasts.
High rainfall, good soils and a mild climate make Taranaki one of the premier rhododendron growing areas of the world. Major collections such as at Pukeiti, Tupare and Hollard Gardens attract visitors year-round.
The Festival is timed to coincide with the peak blooming period and brings together experts, enthusiasts and gardeners from around New Zealand and the world.
Fabulous Gardens
Sixty-two gardens are open during the Festival, including 18 new gardens. 24 gardens are billed as 'Blue Ribbon Gardens', selected as being among the very best gardens in Taranaki and among the top gardens in New Zealand
There are 30 'Festival Gardens', predominantly private gardens that are only open for the festival, and eight gardens chosen for unique features that will be of interest to garden lovers.
This year is also the 75th Jubilee celebrations for Hollard Gardens.
