A year in the making, this exhibition is a beautiful collection of images celebrating the symbolic and the actual nature of Chinese plants, within walking distance of the garden that inspired it. A collaboration by fine art photographer Susan Purdy and Terry Smith, curator of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne’s Southern Chinese Collection.

The beautiful gardens of central Victoria. The theme for this year’s festival is “The Beauty of Extremes”, inspired by our climate and environment. Over 40 gardens will be open to the public, many of them for the first time this year, including Buda Historic Home and Garden in Castlemaine. Other garden related activities include a garden expo, trash and treasure sale, a Castlemaine Historical Society walk, the Central Victorian Farmers Market and more.
