Floral Pavilions
There are simply too many displays in the Floral Pavilions to mention them all.

The Hillier's garden, designed around a pergola was appealing and was very well done, winning them a Gold Medal.

Blooms of Bressingham created a captivating garden around an abandoned greenhouse, a winding path led to the ageing greenhouse and trees behind gave height to the display. Masses of 'McKana' Aquilegias, geraniums, hostas, the inevitable birches and many other plants made this a magical wild garden.

Bloms Bulbs mounted a truly dazzling display of bulbs, both species and cultivars. Amazing 130 varieties of Tulips were included in Gold Medal winning display.

We may be told that they are deeply unfashionable but order taking was brisk on the stands of luscious roses shown by Peter Beales, David Austin, Harkness and others.

Kirstenboch, Western Cape
Kirstenboch, Western Cape

The Kirstenboch Botanic Garden, Western Cape, South Africa, showed Proteas and lecadendrons in a striking arid garden.

Kelaways ranged their irises against a curving blue wall, while their impressive peonies held court in the middle, Westcountry Lupins had banks of lupins massed against the wall. Delphiniums, clematis and more lined the pavilions. Maples, poppies, hostas, carnivorous plants and more - every imaginable plant speciality are represented.

It is almost too much to take in and it is hard to leave without the niggling thought that you might have missed something splendid!

Lifelong learning
Wonderful displays demonstrating everything from an essay on the 'Diversity of the Salix species' (including one from New Zealand), a display of every imaginable hosta (and several you had never imagined. An example of woodland edge planting, Water for crops in Nepal, BBC Gardeners World 'Factual Learning', Herbs, Historic Roses and many other societies with informative and fascinating displays. It was all there.
